Did you know that after this round of deficit spending, every family in America will owe $5,200 per year just for the interest on our debt. And if we do not pay that interest, even if we do not borrow more, it will grow into higher and higher figures. And that figure is only good right now! Did you know that our national debt is climbing at over $100,000.00 per second? Did you know that amounts to $3,620,000,000.00 per day?
I'll tell you what, rather than taking my word for all this, go to this link and watch the automated clock. You cannot even read the first 3 digits they are moving so fast and you can't even enunciate the next 3 digits.
http://oddhammer.com/ The webmaster has just had to redo his work to make it reflect double digit Trillions!Congress who should be limited to one term each, learned they could get re-elected if they gave people something for nothing. So they poured it on. And sure enough, they were re-elected time after time. They have known that this was ridiculously reckless spending for generations now, but what the heck, let the next generation handle it. They are going to love us.
Now, we have elected one of our spending senators to position of president, and loaded both houses of congress with even more wild spenders and in their first thirty days borrowed four times more money than our last extravagant administration did all year. That would be forgivable if it were going to end our financial problems...but it isn't. It is only making it four times worse. Unless we root out the causes of all this and remedy them, we are done for as a nation.
Now listen to this. The House of representatives has past, and the Senate is set to pass it on Thursday of this week I believe, an enormous omnibus appropriations bill. Without trying to analyze each and ever item, let us simply look at the pork spending. Remember this is a critical time for financial responsibility and after our president affirmed that he would go down the bill, line by line and eliminate pork projects. There are 9,287 congressional pork projects funded. How many congressmen do we have? 100 Senators, 466 House members (I think). That comes to an average of approximately 16 and ½ slices of pork per congressman. And you need to read the list. A partial list is accessible at the Heritage Foundation‘s website:
http://www.heritage.org/Research/Budget/upload/porktable.htmlWhen reading the list, one may find a few that appears to be for a legitimate and worthwhile cause. But even those, when examined closely, should be the responsibility of the state in which it is located. We have become a nation of panhandlers, reaching to the federal government for every street resurfacing job, or recreational facility. And our congressmen are ready and willing to assure themselves another term.
Besides all this pork, this bill has an 8% increase in "discretionary" spending fund over that of 2008...but wait! Of the recent stimulus package, much of it went to the discretionary fund which combined, produces an 80% increase over last year. $680 billion dollars in the discretionary fund.
