More Gun Control Required Because of BINGHAMTON, New York Shooting?

BINGHAMTON, New York (Reuters) – Authorities identified the gunman who killed 13 people and himself at an immigrant services center on Friday as Jiverly Wong, 41, a Vietnamese immigrant who had taken English classes there.

Binghamton Police Chief Joseph Zikuski said on Saturday no motive for the shooting had been determined, but he confirmed reports that Wong, who also went by the name Voong, had felt degraded by his inability to speak English and by a recent job loss.

" From the people close to him ... this action he took was not a surprise to them, " Zikuski told a news conference.

" He felt degraded from his inability to speak English and he was upset about that, " he added. (Courtesy of AOL News).

Although this shooting was very unfortunate, and very sad, I will never understand why some people think that guns kill people. Every time a shooting occurs, they want more gun control. When are these people going to figure out that it's PEOPLE THAT KILL PEOPLE, not the guns? We need PEOPLE control. Oh yes, the guns do the job, but so do knives, bats, hammers, tire irons, and the good ole' " Fire Poker " .

How about cars? Or plastic bags and pillows, ice picks, and anything you can beat someone senseless with? Are we going to make and enforce laws to ban all of those as well? I for one want to protect my right to bare arms. That is, and has been a right of mine since the constitution was signed. It is a right that I fought for. Now these people, like Rosie O'Donnell, and all of these folks that have no idea what they are talking about want to ban guns all together? Are they nuts? It really makes me mad.

These are the same people that want to take God out of our Constitution, out of our schools, off of our currency, and off all government property. It is politically incorrect to believe in God. Oh, you can believe in Allah, you can believe in Buddha, you can believe in same sex marriages, Porn, Child Porn, you can just about believe in anything you want, but believe in God? Shame on you. Are you an American? That is just not American. That is not politically correct, shame on you. Never mind that this country was FOUNDED under God, our forefathers created the Constitution under the name of God, our currency says In God We Trust. How about all of the crosses in Arlington Cemetery?

Who put those there? Under whose authority? Crosses on Government property? I'm surprised they haven't taken these all down, and replaced them with rocks. The very same government who put those crosses there, are the very same ones who are trying to ban such displays. Who makes these laws/decisions? I would love to know, I would like to have the names of every man and woman who makes these policies. Who are they? Names please! If any of our policies and constitutional rights are being disputed, and/or revised, that should not be the decision of any committee, it should be the decision of the American Voters. Period. Get a grip America, and stand up and FIGHT FOR GOD!! I really respect the leaders in Australia, they told those that came into their country that their country was founded on Christianity, and if they can't respect that, that they can leave. That is exactly what we need to do...Ban those that don't respect it. If they don't believe in God, then they can go back to their own country to worship anyway they wish...but do it there if they cannot respect our rights as Christians! Let it be written, so let it be done!!

Thanks so much for this great lesson Gary, and you are so right. It doesn't matter how hard they try, guns will always be available to thos who wish to kill, only those who treasure other peoples lives as well as their own, will be unable to have one. Just as prohibition brough on more lawlessness, so will a ban on guns.

Thank you so much Joel for you kind and caring comments. It's true what you say, and it just baffels me everytime someone kills someone, that people immediately blame guns...when it is the idiot holdig the gun that is killing those helpless victims may God rest their souls. I'm am concerned about those that were close to the murderer, if it didn't surprise them that he would do this, I think someone should have been made aware that this individual was unstable. That is part of our problem here in America, a lot of the immigrants do not know how to speak english. The even own businesses over here, and they don't speak english, I was asking my supervisor how someone would expect to do business over here and not speak any english, and he simply said, they only cater to those that speak their language? Wow, if we ever had a hard core clean-up of America, and it was REQUIRED to speak english in this country, there would be alot of people exported!! Your fan, and friend in pen.....Gary.

OOOOOH, a rant, I love rants. Actually Gary, I hear ya, and you've made a lot of good points, but I will respectfully refrain from commenting on this one. I commented on the subject about guns on another website a couple years ago, and was curtly told that some of their members no longer wanted to hear from me. All I will say is, if he had been using a knife, the innocent people would have stood a better chance of survival.

I do, however, respect your opinion, and as free citizens, I thank God that we have the right to make those opinions. Keep up the good fight, Gary.

Lol David, yeah, I got on a rant!! lol...And, your probably right! But I have allot of passion about this one, and I don't really think everyone is bad that is against guns, No one, and I mean no one, has ever given me a good legit reason WHY guns should be banished or more strict controls put on them. No one. I did fight for my right to bare arms, not against my fellow man, but just because I am a collector. I have tons of them, and have no intention of waging a war against my fellow man, foreign or domestic. I love to shoot, after all, that is what I did in Vietnam, and as a use to be hunter. I love my guns, they are a piece of art to me...So yeah, I did get on a rant....hahahahahhaa Your fan, and friend in pen....Gary. Thanks for your comments and the read....

Gary, good jb. As you know the media will continue pressing for gun control. It is a left wing item on their agenda. Once can never legislate the criminally insane and for that matter anyone can get a gun if they really want one. In the Darkness State and really all over the country, people are buying guns in huge numbers anticipating our new Presidents shift on what he says openly verses what he actually does. Once again, disarm the populace and you have tota control. So let me ask this question, how much safer is England or any nation that has banned weapons? Best wishes. No, more are killed on the highway by road rage then by weapons.

I totally agree with what you are saying. I had someone ask me the other day, "Well, if we outlawed guns, don't you think a person wouldn't be able to kill as many people, if that very same person couldn't buy guns, but instead had a knife? He would have to physically go up to the 13 people and stab them all, and that couldn't happen, the other people would get him down, and beat him up". I told him that he's missing the point, the point is, whether you kill 1, or 13 people, your still killing them, and yes, he couldn't kill as many if he didn't have a automatic weapon, but the point is, it is a human pulling the trigger. The gun didn't leap into his hands. It all has to boil down with human error, he shouldn't have had a weapon period, especially if his friends "close to him" knew he was capable of doing this....I am a gun owner, and if I am angry, I'm not going to go kill sombody!!! Thanks Robert for your comments, and continued support.....I wlll be stopping by your site, to check it out......Your friend in pen, and fan......Gary
