Pravda's Insulting Article Of Obama And The U.S.
by Joel Hendon(755)
In the Friday's (4/10/2009) English version of the Russian Pravda daily paper, is a 4 page article entitled: The Emperor's new clothes: Mr Change's recent European trip. If you really would like to know what Russia thinks of us, you should read the entire article. It is as insulting as you will ever read from a foreign state controlled newspaper, regardless of the political enmity between them.
It's first paragraph gives a brief outline of the story of The Emperor's New Clothes, a fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson, published in 1837. It was a poorly chosen story to try and use as an example of President Obama or for the article itself. I include a paragraph taken from the article, not knowing how much is factual or how much is purely Russian propaganda but it sets the tone of the article itself.
During a meeting with the "European Union" (many of whose members are also NATO clients) Mr. Change publicly suggested the EU should speedily admit Turkey as a member. This would be good for Europe. Preoccupation for Europe's best interest on the part of US politicians, officials and pundits is always suspicious. I vividly recall the endless series of US economists and politicians trying to protect the Europeans against themselves and arguing strongly against the introduction of the
They paint a very ugly picture of President Obama as well as the United States and former Presidents of this country.
This newspaper, even though they profess to be free from governmental controls and have freedom of the press, I challenge them to write such harshness against their own president or prime minister. Heads would roll. Also, if the government officials did not approve of this article they certainly could, and would, have forbidden it's publication.
President Obama needs to learn one thing, our decades old arch enemies are not in a mood for reconciliation. Rather, they are just waiting and scheming for an opportunity to place a sword between our shoulder blades. His efforts to sweet talk our enemies and make friends of them, may be admirable but is also very, very naive. Diplomacy is as they say, when confronted by a large dog, you can say "good doggie" while looking for a big rock. There are far too many evil people who would like nothing better than to see the United States brought down. To lower our defense budget is like tossing aside our big rock. We need to speak to our congressmen, and the president by emails, letters and calls, to keep our defenses strong.
If there is any truth whatsoever to the article in Pravda, we had better keep our dukes (guard) up, even with our allies. I urge all my readers to take the time and read this insulting article and encourage others to read mine and it.
I close this with a long sentence from the final page of their article:
But to Europeans, Mr. Change looks familiar. Not like the kind of person they fear but rather like someone they tend to look down on: like some politician from a poor, corrupt African republic hooked on handouts and aid from Europe. Most African politicians come to Europe to ask for money and favors and usually they receive some.
Here is the URL to their article. Take the time to read it all.

Joel, my guess is that Russia isn't the only country that now looks at the US this way. Our current President is way too naive, and I'm afraid we as a nation will pay the price for his naivete. Thanks for clueing us all in.Respond to this comment

Hi Danny, thanks for reading and commenting. Yes, I fear you are right. As a matter of fact, I am in agreement with much of their attitude. I'm afraid we are headed down a very rocky road. If we can only survive for two years and get a majority of conservatives back in congress, maybe things can be turned around.Respond to this comment

Hi Sue, thanks for reading and commenting. I too, am riding on hope and trust in God. I know that God is in command but I do wonder if we can still expect His tender mercies toward us, having so badly neglected Him.Respond to this comment

Thanks Teresa for your kind remarks. Sadly, I predicted the things that are coming about, before the election, and I prayed for God's wisdom in guiding us. He cannot look upon sin. I am gravely concerned about my children and grandchildren.Respond to this comment
