God and Our Nation

In 1776 the Founding Fathers of our nation published a
Declaration of Independence which is one of most important documents of our government. Within that documents are strong affirmations of truths that seem to have been forgotten in our present secular environment. Notice:
" We hold these truths to be self-evident, that
all men are created equal, that they are
endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights... " They believed mankind was created...not evolved from lower life forms. They believed that there is a Creator who endowed us with basic human rights.
" ...the representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress assembled, appealing to
the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions... " They recognized God as te Supreme Judge of the World and appealed to Him for assistance in their undertaking.
They closed the Declaration with the following words, " And for the support of this Declaration, with a
firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our fortunes and our sacred Honor. " They relied on " divine Providence, " that is God’s protection and provision, in their grand undertaking.
The First Amendment to our Constitution recognizes the natural right of freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of assembly. It is our government’s responsibility to " secure these rights " so we Christians might practice the religion of our God.

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other " (John Adams)
" It is
impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible " (George Washington)
" Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity,
religion and morality are indispensable supports.... And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion ...
Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail to the exclusion of religious principle " (George Washington's
Farewell Address).
This is the truth, no matter what the ACLU, lawyers, judges, academics, or President Obama might say about our nation. While today she is largely secular, America did not begin that way, nor will she survive by that godless code.
