Tea Party Protesters, Notice the Contrast

April 15 th was an educational experience for Americans. In some 700 cities, across the country, citizens attended public " Tea Parties. " Their purpose was to protest the exorbitant taxation and spending of the Federal Government and its Democratic leadership. Hopefully politicians learned that those
who are forced to supply the money they so casually spend are fed up with their profligate waste. Hopefully those who dream of reshaping America on a European socialist model will cease their destructive, divisive efforts.
Demonstrations over political issues are not new in America. But there was stark contrast between the people protesting yesterday and those we commonly see protesting in our cities.
Those protesting at the Tea Parties were
* Working, law-abiding, tax-paying American citizens.
* They expressed themselves without profanity.
* There was no violence, no windows broken, no looting, no cars burned, no assaults on police, no attempts to invade offices of government, no blocking of public streets. No threats against politicians.
* They were respectable people who respected the rights and property of others. The did not trash the area in which they protested.
* They receive generally unfavorable or disinterested coverage by the media.
In contrast, we are routinely treated to images of demonstrations by anti-war protesters, environmentalists, pro-illegal immigration supporters, angry minority groups, anti law-enforcement groups, anarchists, Marxists, etc. In those we frequently see:
* Bussed in " rent a mob " professional protestors.
* Vile, vulgar, hate-filled signs.
* Demands for special privileges.
* Ski-masks covering faces.
* Hate America, hate the police, hate the military signs.
* Threatening signs slogans or speeches against politicians who do not yield to their demands.
* Disruption of traffic flow and business
* Attacks on public and private property. Windows smashed, stores looted, cars burned.
* Attempts to force their way into government offices.
* Bystanders attacked,
* Those daring to express a contrary point of view are shouted down or attacked and silenced.
* Violent clashes with law-officers.
* Full, non-judgmental coverage by our media.
On the first type of citizens the survival of our society depends. From the second we can expect nothing but another protest.
