Most Americans Are Non-Party Loyalists But Don't Know It

I have only voted for one third party candidate in my life. This was during the presidential primary 2008. And mostly, it has been because I knew they had no possible chance of winning the presidency. Another reason, for the most part, they sounded far too radical in their rhetoric.

This past presidential campaign has awakened a lot of people to the fact that they just don't like the stand of either of the two major parties. And I'm one of them. I voted for the McCain/Palin ticket because I was scared to death of the Obama/Biden ticket. And now I'm more afraid of them than I was then. No true American wants to see a socialistic government here. Some may think they do, but they just haven't studied the history and the details of those who presently exist. It is not a system that makes a nation strong and prosperous. It is a system that discourages initiative and hard work, while encouraging a lack of those characteristics. This nation has proven in the past 200 years that a democracy works well when a little common sense is used. But we are swiftly running out of common sense.

Every American needs to read closely, the platform of any party which has a candidate for the presidency and or congress. See what they offer and what they believe to be right. Where they have vague or ambiguous wording on some vital points, insist that the candidate clarify his personal stand on those points. Where they do not meet your approval, don't vote or support them. Many will be very discouraged when they read the platform of their chosen party.

It is always a good idea to read, even the third party candidates party platform. After reading much, I find the Constitution Party platform to be most pleasing to me. With only few exceptions, it lays it out as it should be. Just why they can never field a candidate that attracts widespread attention is beyond me. Their constitution is 14 pdf pages in length but I urge all to take the time and read it, and encourage others to read it. If the public insists upon sticking to a two-party system, we need to at least have our party leaders incorporate much of what the Constitution Party has laid out. http://www.constitutionparty.com/documents/2008CPPlatform.pdf

This past presidential campaign was a horrible nightmare. I desperately did not want to see either the Democrat Party or the Republican Party candidate win. Neither had the good of the people in mind. Now see where we are going. We'll be very fortunate if our previous way of life is still intact two years from now so we can try and reinstate a balance of power. In less than 90 days, we have witnessed what can happen with one-sided majority executive, legislative and judicial branches. Our constitution is being trampled underfoot, our personal freedoms are in dire danger and our national debt is going through the roof.

Far too many people, a vast majority, never know what language is embedded in their party's platform. I suspect that a very small percentage knew this past election that the Democrats platform was (is) 59 pages of pure campaign rhetoric. Innuendos, and criticisms of the Republican Party. They could hardly make a statement without contrasting it with an exaggerated or twisted Republican move. Here is one quote ambiguously approving of unhampered abortion

Reproductive Health Care We oppose the current administration's consistent attempts to undermine a woman's ability to make her own life choices and obtain reproductive health care, including birth control. We will end health insurance discrimination against contraception and provide compassionate care for rape victims. We will never put ideology above women's health. It would be good for every Democrat to read this and you can see just how horrible the past 8 years were. It will be interesting to see a comparison of the next eight years against the last eight. The document tells you a lot less about what they truly can do, in 59 pages than does the Constitution Party's in 14 pages. http://www.democrats.org/a/party/platform.html

It is also of interest to read the Republican Party platform, which is 67 pages but much larger type than the Democrats. Theirs more favorably impresses the reader, though it also is filled with much rhetoric. The primary difference is they spend little time in ridicule and criticism of the opposing party, but rather in tooting their own horn of accomplishments. If you read these three platforms, and any of the other third part platforms, I believe you may come away saying what I did, the Constitution Party platform is far superior. http://platform.gop.com/2008Platform.pdf
