Second Amendment Rights: Plans For Eroding Or Eradicating?

During President Obama's visit with Mexican President Felipe Calderon, he promised to "urge" the congress to pass an international gun control treaty. He no doubt meant to use the word "prod" instead of urge. The treaty in question already exists internationally and is titled the unbelievable
"Inter-American Convention Against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Related Materials", but happily it goes by the acronym of CIFTA. The treaty was signed by President Clinton but the Senate refused to ratify it. So far, the president has rammed his wishes through the Senate since becoming president and I'm sure his iron handed tactics will again be brought to bear on the Senate for this one.
Those who are proponents of this treaty declare that it will not interfere with the rights guaranteed by the second amendment, but is rather a "symbolic" gesture. That is bull excrement and everyone knows it. Why would anyone care just to make a symbolic gesture? What good is that? So,
what is wrong with it?
Some of the things wrong with it are, that it empowers third world countries to demand that we abide by whatever is determined to be it's intent. We don't need to be told what to do by some third world countries nor any first world countries for that matter. Our constitution is for the United States of America.
Much of the hullabaloo is that of the erroneous speculation that the Mexican drug cartel is getting the majority of their weapons from the United States. Only those who want to see our constitution ignored are making such a claim. President Obama himself said:
"More than 90% of the guns found in Mexico are not bought [in Mexico], but in the United States," He is perfectly aware that this is a myth.
The facts are that, the number of those sent back to the U.S. for tracing are about 90% from the U.S., however, only those they suspect to be from the U.S. are sent back to us. Most of their confiscated guns are obviously not made here so they are not sent back for tracing. It is estimated that 17% or less are actually from the U.S. All involved, including the president, know and understand this and are fabricating the information to further their agenda to gain more gun control.
Here is a paragraph concerning the CIFTA treaty taken from gunowners.org website:
If ratified and the U.S. is found not to be in compliance with any provisions of the treaty -- such as a provision that would outlaw reloading ammunition without a government license -- President Obama would be empowered to implement regulations without Congressional approval.
So far, virtually every move this administration has made is to endow more power to the president. Congress is being ignored except in legislating laws and they then are being coerced to move the president's way. If this treaty is ratified, you may watch for very strong measures to follow.
Following last weeks massive "Tea Party" gatherings, which were completely legal and peaceful, they have unleashed their bloodhounds to try and find a conspiracy to foment violence. And find it they will, even if totally fabricated. They are browbeating Texas Governor Rick Perry, wrongly accusing him of suggesting that Texas might secede from the union. He didn't suggest any such thing and every one knows it. It is simply another way to augment their desire to circumvent our constitution in every way they can.
Every citizen needs to contact their legislators and demand that our constitution be honored in every detail, and especially if you have legislators who are Democrats. They are the ones who likely vote for the CIFTA ratification. They are flushing our rights down the toilet one by one.
