It is interesting, to notice that since the new administration has taken office, the Democratic congress has been spitting in the face of the Republicans. Instead of working with those "across the aisle" as the campaign rhetoric promised, they have conversed with the president behind closed doors and gleefully voted almost 100% against any suggestion made by the Republicans. They are now working hard to try and get a filibuster breaking majority on their side. They've even threatened to use their "nuclear" tactic to break any filibuster that might be started.
They do not remember that the tables were almost exactly opposite some few years back when George Bush was trying to appoint judges and each one brought a filibuster from the Democrats or at least a threat of one. Many conservatives screamed at the Republicans for not invoking their "nuclear" tactic to stop the filibusters, but they would not. I recall some saying that this tactic, although perfectly legal, had never been used against the opposing party and they could not bring themselves to be the first to do so.
Once it is used, it will virtually do away with the beneficial filibuster. I suppose now we will see who has the most decency among party members. Although there has been no doubt already concerning that issue.
As the president closes out only his first 100 days, every bill brought before the congress has been distasteful to conservatives and everyone recognizes that fact. They accuse the Republicans of not cooperating across the aisle when in reality, they are the ones who are presenting these bills which are intentionally obnoxious to any conservative. Republicans constituents would desert them if they went along with the reckless and irresponsible throwing taxpayer money into the wind. I commend those who have stood up for our country and voted almost solidly against those reckless bills.
Now, a new generic congressional poll taken by Rasmussen shows, that for the second time in five years, voters say they would vote Republican 41% while Democrat 38%. Giving Republicans a 3 point lead. The first several weeks of this year, Democrats held a 6 to 7 point lead over Republicans. I hope the Democrats continue their arrogant high handed running things over the Republicans for the next 17 or 18 months. You will see a complete reversal of congressional power in the House of Representatives and two years later in the Senate and Presidential office.
This arrogance with the forthcoming runaway taxation and unaffordable energy prices, will assure a highly dissatisfied voter. Add to that a highly disappointing health care program which will run our spending deficit out of sight.
I can foresee some good coming from this presidential term. It perhaps will show people that heavy taxation is not the way to make the nation prosperous. It will show that the George Soros groups are un-American and subversive. It will show that we need someone to put a stop to our illegal alien problems.
There are some bad things I fear we may learn before we can replace the administration, one is a tremendous increase in terrorism abroad and here in the states. I fear that we will be so deeply in debt that recovery from that may take 6 to 8 generations. I fear that our military will be depleted to a hazardous low. And perhaps one of the worst problems which may arise is that race relations may be set back by 50 years. It is entirely possible that an African American may find it much more difficult to win the presidential nomination for many years to come, if Barack Obama falls on his face in this term. This should be irrelevant, because it has nothing to do with what is happening, but unfortunately many will feel that it does.
There are many more things in the making which will shock the American public, including many Democrats. We will soon see that the influence of those wealthy people including Soros, offer us a path that we do not wish to go.
