Troubles For U.S., Just Beginning

by Joel Hendon(178) Red Star

If one thinks we are now in big trouble, just hang on to your hat, you haven't seen anything yet. I gave a bleak prediction of the U.S. for this 2009 year in my a Searchwarp article # 414477 posted in December 2008 based upon the then circumstances and now, I must revise it downward. I now predict that the next six months will see a virtual collapse in our economy, I expect soup lines and massive turmoil, including a considerable rise in violent crime. Robbery, muggings, larceny and other crimes associated with survival will increase as the economy fails.

Before you ask why, I'll explain my reasoning as best I can. You may whoo-pooh everything I say but take heed and then see if it doesn't come about. It doesn't have to but I see no change, in the present direction that President Obama and the liberal congress are taking, about to occur. Now weigh these facts.

Nothing has improved in these first five months. There are far more out of work today than there were at the years beginning. And now let's see what will improve. I say nothing will. It will only deteriorate and we'll look at the individual massive problems one at a time. Obama and Geithner have both said they are beginning to see a slight light under the door that the economy is improving. That is only rehearsed rhetoric to try and keep the public confidence up.

1. The automobile industry is assuredly headed for disaster. The bankruptcy of Chrysler and GM may offer them a meager start but they cannot survive. The criteria placed before them will cost millions of dollars to implement and then the cars will not be sold. Who will buy them? Only the wealthy can afford to purchase one and then the operation of them will be so costly it will be prohibitive for most people. The foreign manufacturers will continue to produce quality cars, even with the emission standards, but with the congress and present administration so strongly tied to the UAW labor union, they will continue to force problems upon them until they move back home.

2. The present congressional plan is that of the "cap and trade" bill, the ridiculous idea for lowering our release of carbon particles into the atmosphere. This plan will absolutely demolish our gasping economy. There are numerous people who are waving their flags to hurry this project on, but I challenge you to wave your flag when it becomes law and you see the results. You'll be waving a white flag instead but it'll be too late.

3. As if we do not have enough unemployed now, wait to see the multiple thousands this new project puts out of work. The coal fields will virtually be shut down. The power producing plants will be forced to pay huge, unacceptable, costs for their electrical production, which will be passed on to the consumer.

4. Heating bills will, of absolute necessity, triple or quadruple in cost. The middle and lower income people can scarcely afford to heat their homes now. And don't think you will switch to gas or oil for heating. They will be right in there with electricity, completely out of the poor man's reach, not only for heating but for operating his automobile.

You may believe that this will not happen, but I warn you, it cannot help but happen if their present plan is put into effect. The only possibility we have that it will not come to pass, is if there are enough level heads in the Senate to stop this disaster. Once again, the pushers of this thing are chiefly Al Gore, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, several idiots in the U.N. who wish to see us fail, and a few of their cohorts, who cannot stop long enough to read the news. Numerous scientists are now changing their tune to say that it now appears we are heading into a mini-ice age! And we are already a decade into this downward cycle.

It would not be nearly as disastrous if, when it is shown that these ideas are failures, one could simply back up and do things over. They cannot. With the enormous expenditures now being made in bailouts, stimulus packages, and revving up the process of alternative energy research, these monies cannot be recovered. An economy which could have worked it's way out of the mire is being buried under enormous debts and a beleaguered clientele who cannot afford the few products which will then be available.

This worst of all moves, wrapped up in what is being called "Cap and Trade bill".

To sum it all up. The past five months will look like a huge Christmas rush in the economy when compared to the next 6-8. Mark it on your calendar. I urge you to read the analysis of this bill at the following link:
