Pathetic Petty Politicians

Senator Barbara Boxer (D. CA) is the epitome of smallness. Her condescending demands of Brigadier Gen. Michael Walsh, insisting that he not address her as Ma’am but as Senator were childish and petty. The General’s accomplishments and contributions to the welfare of our nation supercede hers by a factor of ten, yet she felt it important to stop his presentation to insist that she be addressed by her official title rather than as Ma'am, which is standard military protocol. He was being more than gracious in addressing her as Ma’am. Here she sits among the leaders of our nation and on national television, yet all she can think of is, " Get my title right, Sonny. " Her petty demand diminishes what little standing she had. It likely embarrassed her colleagues. It reminds us of why our national government is so incompetent. Narcissism flourishes in the vaporous climate of Washington D.C.
