Administration Now Searching For Excuses

by Joel Hendon(179) Red Star

The controversial stimulus package which was hurriedly passed after this new administration took over, objected to by the majority of the American People and virtually all the Republican congressmen, has totally failed to produce any favorable results. The administration leaders are yet to recognize why it has failed and are looking pathetically for face saving answers for it. There are none other than a power hungry group attempting to show their new power by running hard shod over the minority party and the American people. The president even made the remarks that the election results gave a mandate from the American people to do the things they were doing.

Now that their actions are proving to be worthless, even damaging, to the economy, they still have intentions of putting the blame on the previous administration. Pathetic and childish. Their standing in the various polls are also dropping visibly and this brings on more effort to find excuses. They refuse to accept the reasons.

This morning, as I was scanning the headlines, two of them caught my eye as being typical of their crying. And adds to the proof that they have no idea what it is going to take to bring the economy out of the doldrums. Here are the two headlines taken from MSNBC:

[House majority  leader] Hoyer: Stimulus Slow to Create Jobs,But Time is Not Ripe for New Package.

Slow to create jobs is quite the understatement of the year. As of June 25, 2009, there were 6.74 million people on the unemployment benefits role. Much worse than the early estimates were considering if the government did nothing!!  But Hoyer stated that it was too early to tell, because all of the huge stimulus package had not yet been issued out. If that is all that is holding it back, why on earth do they not issue it? The problem is, that is not what is holding it back. Consumer confidence is what is holding it back and as long as the government is strewing billions of taxpayers money into the wind hoping for some unseen result, it will continue to deteriorate.

[Vice President] Biden: We misread how bad the economy was.

No, the economy was not nearly so bad then. It has constantly deteriorated since the election in November. Why? Because the public was brainwashed into expecting the worst. Obama constantly referred to the situation as a "crisis" and that it would get worse before it got better.  He was right in that projection.  But it did not have to be so. The public was informed time and again before the election that this man had no experience whatsoever for what is required of a president. Add to that, he then loaded himself with aides and advisors who knew as little as he does. So our government is now being run by a novice and his Chicago henchmen and is swiftly being dragged over the precipice. Until the Democratically controlled congress starts balking at this outrageous legislation and even repeals some of the excess spending proposals, our economy is doomed to worsen. When the public fears the future, spending always slows drastically.

Consumer confidence has always been the decisive factor in our economy. Until something is done (rather than massive spending) to restore their confidence, deterioration is bound to continue. The public must wake up and make demands of their legislators. Threats of job loss will do much to influence these greedy politicians. And as long as things continue as they are now, a tremendous changing of the guard can be expected in 2010, and again in 2012.
