America’s Immoral Minority (?) Continues To Grow

by Joel Hendon(177) Red Star

The fall of the mighty Roman Empire is generally used as an example of what immorality will do for a nation or an empire, and it is actually a good example, yet the true fall was somewhat of a side effect of the greed, lack of ethics and morals and simply a lack of oversight. The powerful empire had grown tremendously, fueled by successful conquests where their victories and subsequent gain of rich bounty from these newly conquered peoples. Their government with it’s emperor, various kings of the conquered lands, garrisons and other such expensive costs became overwhelming when their possible victims, and consequently their riches, dwindled and virtually disappeared.

As the government began to weaken thusly, they actually committed involuntary suicide by stifling initiative and technology. One perfect example, a form of flexible glass was invented but Emperor Tiberius had the man’s shop totally destroyed for fear that it would cause copper, silver and gold to lose value. Another incident was an engineer who invented a machine which could move large pillars at little expense rather than pay hundreds of men to move them. But Emperor Vespasian rejected it since it would put many poor out of work.

Their only solution to their shortfall of funds was a continual increase in taxes. In 301 AD, Emperor Diocletian imposed fixed prices and wages on all the empire’s businesses with the penalty of death for any infractions.

Immorality was rampant, greed and corruption in government was also at every level and so the empire became so weakened that mere 80,000 vandals overthrew the entire Roman territory of Africa in one decade. Almost one-third of the citizens under the oppressive rule, moved into the lands conquered by the barbarians because it was freer and more peaceful. The invading barbarian armies were greeted by many as liberators rather than conquerors.

The United States, now some 235 years old was begun under moral and decent men whose desire was the freedom and prosperity of the citizens of this country. Immorality, criminal activity and corruption were looked upon as unacceptable in government and in the populace itself. It was also punished. But as our prosperity flourished and we became the greatest single nation and power upon the face of the earth, immorality, greed and corruption also grew. Now that our economy is failing, so the grab for power and governmental control increases. It has already become very obvious that our huge indebtedness will take us down if not handled with extreme care. Crippling taxation is not the answer. The only true avenue of escape is less government restrictions and less government taxation which will spur the economy into a much larger GDP.

But in the meantime, our government, and a huge segment of our people, have become immoral to an unimaginable degree. Seeking ways to kill more unborn babies, even to the point of enforcing it. Ways and means of terminating the disabled and elderly from our society. Overruling the majority’s values and wishes. Sexual promiscuity is actually encouraged. Of our own government officials, perhaps as many as half, have at least been guilty of evading their taxes, accepting gifts from those who seek to gain influence with them, and even of those who do not agree with the above measures, many are complacent and simply pass it off as, “So what?” And the propaganda of the immoral, is convincing more and more in our schools.

I recently had an anonymous comment left on one of my articles which stated that he hoped to live to see the day when the narrow-mindedness of my generation was gone. He will not have to wait many years for that, but I shudder to think what his generation will face when he becomes part of the elderly.

I fear that he has a point, however disrespectful and arrogant, that he is likely to see a completely different approach to morals and decency than still exists to some degree at least. I thank  the Lord in heaven daily that I was permitted to live in the generation I am in. It grieves me that I will be leaving progeny to face the coming years. I almost feel that I should apologize to them for  bringing them into this world.

As you know Joel all foretold thousands of years ago. Why would we expect anythig different. It is excacting a fulfillment of Biblical prophesy  as there could be and if we didn't know it came from God we as humans would be exhaulted as great whatevers. Joel, it really is getting down to whose who. No titles on a name, no nice guys, no postions of power, no anything, do you or don't you? It is simply speaking just that. Best wishes, Robert

Thanks for commenting Robert. I agree that this is probably inevitable, but I just hate to see it happen. Keep up your good work.
