Is The End Coming Soon?
by Raymond Elliott(109)
“THE END OF TIME IS ALMOST HERE" (Emphasis, mine, R.E.). Everybody is talking about it. Everybody feels something world shattering is about to happen. It is going to be worse than a hydrogen war. It will be worse than floods, earthquakes, famines, or other calamities.
“GOD IS WARNING PEOPLE EVERYWHERE THAT THE END OF TIME IS NEAR (Emphasis, mine, R.E.). Communistic leaders are getting ready to push the launching buttons that will fill the skies with missiles. China is getting ready to march with its millions. Africa is shaking itself from sleep like a mighty giant. South America is rumbling like a panther. Crime, delinquency, drug addition, sex, hate and fear are spreading around the world like a cancer. Fear is causing heart attacks around the world. The Bible says, “When you see these things begin to come to pass, then look up...for your redemption draweth nigh.” JESUS IS COMING SOON” (Emphasis, mine, R.E.).
Sensational biblical prophecy, right? Wrong. Sensational? Yes. Biblical? No. How do I know that it is not biblical? Because the prophecy has failed to come to pass. Listen to Moses as he spoke concerning the test of a false prophet: “’But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ “And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ — “When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him” (Deuteronomy 18:20-22). The true credentials of a prophet of God were that he spoke from God and that which he predicted came to pass. The false prophet neither spoke from God nor did his prophecy come to pass.
But, someone might be ready to ask, “How do you know that the prophecy concerning the second coming of Christ and the end of time is not true? Should not more time be given before such a prophecy is classified as being false? My friends, how much time should be allowed when the writer used expressions as “The end of time is almost here...God is warning people everywhere that the end of time is near...Jesus is coming soon.” How much time should we give the prophecy to be fulfilled...a week, a month or perhaps a year?
You see some 50 years have already passed since this prophecy was made in a booklet entitled, ‘CHICKEN’ written by DAVE WILKERSON (Emphasis, mine, R.E.). While there are some good lessons in the booklet that encourages young people to live a good moral life, the prophecy about the ‘end times’ is completely false. Consider the series of books in THE LEFT BEHIND series being written, sold and read today. Time is an ally of truth. For time has proven scores of teachers and writers to be false prophets. The truth is, we do not have New Testament prophets today. But, people love the sensationalism contained in these and other volumes and that is what sells the books. You have the blind leading the blind (Matthew 15:14). How sad that people will not study to understand what the Bible teaches regarding the second coming of Jesus Christ.
The signs often referred to in Matthew 24:1-35 and applied solely to the second coming of Christ actually pointed to the time of the destruction of the temple and the city of Jerusalem. There will be no signs given regarding the second advent of Jesus Christ. Read carefully these words of our Lord found in Matthew 14:36 & 44: “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” “Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Matthew 14:36 & 44: “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.”If you read that scripture closely it says day and hour but says nothing about month and year. This can be found for those that choose God to reveal it to them on how to find it and not man for the answers.“Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."The next verse speaks volumes for how do you think God expects you to be ready if you don't know an approximation of when? Also He reveals that no one knows the day or the hour, but doesn't reveal that you can determine the month and year.He with holds that information but it is accessable and can be found through careful reading and understanding of what is presented and what can appear to not be presented but is actually presented. And I tell you this IS NOT A JOKE!Thats why He can provide it to you so as is said in scripture 1 Thes 5:4 which says "But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief."
You just have to know where to look and how to find it and God can give you that answer through His Christ he has so graciuosly provided to us for that answer.God will not reveal the day and hour for He will not allow man to steal His glory and majesty of the actual return. And I made a vow to the lord not to reveal it for if people seek this it can be found knock and the door will be open to you and all the pieces fit perfect with nothing fabricated its all backed by scripture.I will say this though it is closer than you think!Jesus, the apostles and all the prophets speak and reveal more than people think and can see sometimes even with ones that have the spirit but don't know how to consult Christ through the spirit for these answers. This kind of stuff is all over the internet and their way wrong so many false prophets and doctrine out their thats why he warns us for they mislead people. If people would allow Jesus to minister to them through the word both written and living they would get the answers that they seek.Respond to this comment

Dear Jason,I do thank you for reading my articles. It is very kind of you to do so. Concerning the second coming of our Lord we must rely wholly on the Word of God for our understanding. Different religious groups and individuals have set the exact day over the past hundred of years when Christ will come but time has proven their prophecies to be false. The Word of God guides us into all the truth (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). When Jesus was on earth, even He did not the time of His second coming (Note Mark 13:32). Jesus clearly stated the following: “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.” “Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” “Watch therefore, for you know neither day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming” (Matthew 24:42, 44; 25:13). How is that we cannot determine the hour or the day yet be able to determine the month or year. Years are made up months; months made of weeks; weeks made of days; days made up of hours; and hours made of minutes. Jesus was so specific in declaring that man cannot know the hour or the day. There was no need for Him to mention a month or year. The emphasis that Jesus is giving is that while we do not know when He shall appear the second time is to watch, that is, to be ready when He does come. According to I Thessalonians 5:4-6, the emphasis again is that by being ready and watching, the Day of the Lord will not affect us as those who are not prepared. Peter informs us in 2 Peter 3:10: “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night…” Then in verse 11 he writes, “Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of person out you to be in holy conduct and godliness…” Once again the emphasis is on being ready as a faithful child of God and that when He comes we will not be surprised because we will be ready. Would you kindly present some scriptures that might inform us of the month or the year when Jesus will come again? In kindness,Raymond ElliottRespond to this comment
