Just as I had suspected all along, the new bill about to be presented to the Senate coming from Max Baucus, Montana’s Democrat who has been heading the “Committee of Six” in an attempt to gain a “bipartisan” bill to replace the House bill HR3200, is nothing but a backdoor entrance to doomsday for our national healthcare.
They are touting that this one has language which will resolve the pre-existing illness coverage, the cap for insurance to cover, and will be completely paid for. Let’s examine the resolutions as they come.
[1] Pre-existing health problems. This is desperately needed some way. Perhaps the best way is to figure the extra costs involved for the insurance companies, into the total...average it out and let everyone share alike. It might not sound fair to those who don’t have such a problem, but then, it is basically what insurance is all about. Everyone pays in, only those who need treatment receive benefits. But, there is no way you can put it into a bill and expect it not to raise costs for the majority. This is what the bill is basically saying, let the insurance companies absorb the loss. Won’t work.
[2] No cap on the limit of coverage. In other words, if one’s bills run into the millions, there is no point that an insurance company can say, “That’s it” we cannot pay more than this. Only a few catastrophic cases could destroy even a large insurance company. There can be no possible way to avoid much higher costs for insurance under these circumstances.
[3] Self sustaining. 100% paid for. How is this? By taxing the health insurance! Brilliant! Incur lots of extra costs, but pay for it by taxing the health insurance! They seem to think that taxes are not “extra costs”. If they think they can tax the insurance company to pay for the government involvement without it being charged back to the public, they must think the American people are all retarded!
But herein lies the entire scam. They know full well that the insurance companies cannot survive under such added costs and regulated requirements, that is where the government is lying in wait. Public Insurance! This administration will not rest until we have completely socialized medicine as Canada, the UK and other European countries have. You will find strong dissatisfaction within their peoples, and even the ones who try and defend it, do so without showing legitimate reasons. Here is some proof of their plans:
But the bigger story the MSNBC missed with its focus on the Wilson flap is found in the second bullet point sent out by the White House last night. The Obama Administration inadvertently confirmed that the president’s plan will begin a slow take over of the health care system by the federal government. How else could this be interpreted?
“Undocumented immigrants would be able to buy insurance in the non-exchange private market, just as they do today. That market will shrink as the exchange takes hold, but it will still exist and will be subject to reforms such as the bans on pre-existing conditions and caps.” (Mark Ipomeni- North Jersey Conservative Examiner)
I have no doubt there should be many things done, especially along the lines of allowing competition for insurance companies across state lines, etc. And one of the most valuable things which could be done is to immediately disallow any one in the medical profession to lobby congress, any gifts closely monitored, and strict limits upon all as to their political contributions. Most of our added costs in any area, comes from lobbying in congress and contributions with expected returns.
If the pharmaceutical companies were strictly forbidden to make political contributions, were forced to see that windfall profits on new drugs were largely used in research and development and taxed for excessive profits, our drug costs would drop. Allow free access to Canadian pharmaceutical products to stiffen competition.
These things can be controlled, but the administration wants to have full control.
