An Open Letter And A Plea To The Tea Partiers

The Tea Party activists are to be commended for their vigorous and impressive accomplishments in a relatively short period of time. What many people do not realize is, these people did not start, or create, a doctrine or program. They simply banded together with common philosophies and desires for the good of this country. The nation has been sliding into a chasm for almost the last half of it's existence, especially the last 7 or 8 decades. Bigger government, more and more handouts, more and more dependency upon government.

It is simple and common sense that government cannot pay out more than they take in without dire consequences. Statistics now show that one in six Americans receive government assistance. This is not considering the millions who work for the government, or millions who are on Social Security and Medicare. There are more than 50 million who are on Medicaid...up 17% since the current recession began. The Health Care Reform bill, unless stopped, will add 16 million more to this group in 2014.

More than 40 million are now receiving food stamps, up almost 50% since the recession started. The outlay is almost endless and at present, and we are borrowing approximately 40 cents on each dollar we spend. Sometimes it appears that the majority of Americans have lost their minds and simply shrug their shoulders in a “so what?” attitude.

The Tea Party enthusiasts have arrived at the point that “enough is too much” in government spending. Some are putting forth great effort to see that something is done about it. I commend them for that. And there have been an amazing number of excellent plans to begin the correction of the problems we face. The Heritage Foundation has produced an outstanding plan for reducing our spending deficit and balancing the budget, without a great deal of pain.

Much of our spending is caused simply greed and waste. From individual citizens to our elected officials. It needs to be stopped. We are faced with an opportunity to turn this free fall around starting with the 2012 elections. The GOP and the Tea Party backers should get together and agree to cooperate in choosing the forthcoming candidates by their ideals and their strengths. That includes candidates for president as well as both houses of congress.

Don't form a do or die allegiance toward any candidate if one almost equally as good has more possibilities of winning. Resolve any differences before you push a loser. Into winning in the primaries as at least one such was done in the previous election. Weigh and consider all angles.

My current thoughts (which are subject to change) is to consider and push a ticket with Michelle Bachmann and Herman Cain on it. Here are two who have their heads on straight and are not afraid of anyone. I fully believe they each want to be president to correct the mess we have, rather than for greed or prestige. Let them share the ticket and maybe we can get 16 years out of them.

Not only do these people have the issues resolved in their minds but they have other advantages. The first woman president (or VP) and the other a full fledged American born black man who likes to be referred to as ABC (American Black Candidate). This should show the world how misinformed the brainless left is calling us racists. Besides the votes of the true conservatives, we could surely expect some support from women as well as black Americans.

Newt Gingrich flushed himself down the toilet in his first remarks after announcing he was running. He removed himself from the conservative right and has no place in government at all. Pity...he has the ability but not the correct philosophy.

Beware of Ron Paul. By throwing support to him, you will only cause division in the party. His philosophy and plans are radical and will not fly at this time. I am personally very conservative, but his ideas are out of place considering the majority of voter opinion at this point in time. So don't make that mistake, or we could wind up with 4 more years of free fall, and I fear the bottom is not that far away.
