Would Trump or Palin Consider Running as a Third Party Candidate?

All too often, some who could not compete in either of the Democrat or Republican parties, have felt the need to switch and run on a third party ticket to offer their self-presumed expertise to the nation. No decision could be more fallacious and damaging to the country than this. Any one who would seriously consider such, has lost my vote forever. If they are that foolish, they surely are not qualified to be president of the greatest nation on earth. Of course, we sometime elect those who fit that description even on the two major tickets. Two within my own lifetime, although I am thankful I voted for neither.

Reasons they should not be so foolish as to run:  There have been 39 presidential elections since 1856, when the Democrat and Republican parties first vied for the presidency. The Democrats won that election, and have won 15 more times since as opposed to the Republicans 23. During that time a number of candidates have run on several different third or fourth parties, and not one has ever come near to winning the election. None. So it is a waste of time and money on the part of all concerned.

Invariably, if the candidate is more liberal than the Democrats, or more conservative than the Republicans, they will draw votes from the major party which ever side they are on, liberal or conservative. Often this actually causes the opposing party to win rather than for the third party to win, even though the majority of voters wanted the other.

It is a discouraging thing for the majority of voters whose philosophy is usually moderate even though leaning towards liberal or conservative, to lose the opportunity to put a sound, ethical and intelligent person into this great office because some radicals desert their party to vote for a fellow radical. It is even more folly to vote against a moderate voice only to allow an opposing radical take over.

All of this boils down to the fact that, even though the non-party Tea Party, should be very, very careful in their support of one whom they feel is perfect, to the extent of causing a near-perfect to lose to an opposing radical. This has already happened in at least one instance. It should never happen again. Once the polls show that one can clearly defeat the opponent and the other may not be able to, gather behind the one who can win!

In the 2012 elections, conservatives must concentrate upon an upheaval in the White House and the Senate, Even if it means settling for a little less than perfect. Whoever gets the nominations in the GOP needs our full support, even if we preferred someone else as the nominee. A straight GOP ticket should be the goal of all conservatives in November 2012.

In the meantime, we all ought to inform those who consider running in a minority party ticket, that we will abandon them, and mean it. At this point, my pick of presidential prospects, in order of preference today, but subject to change is: Herman Cain, Michelle Bachmann, Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich. I plan to watch carefully to try and determine which one can, without question, win over Obama.

Kind of makes you wonder why the land of the eagle is not mentioned in Revelation, doesn't it? Maybe we are about to find out why.....
